About the Carolina Panthers

What to Check on This Team Page

The Carolina Panthers entered the NFL as an expansion franchise in 1995 and play home games at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, giving the Carolinas their only major professional football team. Carolina reached the Super Bowl twice, in the 2003 and 2015 seasons, with the latter run led by MVP quarterback Cam Newton and a defense that carried the Panthers to a franchise-best 15-1 record. The team's NFC South rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints has shaped the division since its 2002 realignment, with tight divisional races common most seasons. Panthers home games are known for the pregame entrance through a smoke-filled tunnel beneath a giant panther statue, part of one of the more theatrical gameday atmospheres in the league. As a relatively young franchise compared to its NFC South rivals, Carolina continues building its championship history around a fan base spread across both North and South Carolina.
