About the New Orleans Saints

What to Check on This Team Page

The New Orleans Saints joined the NFL in 1967 and play home games at the Caesars Superdome, one of the most recognizable domed stadiums in American sports and a symbol of the city's post-Hurricane Katrina recovery. New Orleans won Super Bowl XLIV following the 2009 season, defeating Indianapolis behind quarterback Drew Brees, who retired as one of the most prolific passers in NFL history. The Saints' NFC South rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers has defined the division for over twenty years, with the Superdome's deafening crowd noise giving New Orleans a real home-field advantage. The team's return to the Superdome after Katrina in 2006, capped by a dominant Monday Night Football win, remains one of the most emotional moments in modern NFL history. Brees's tenure reshaped the franchise into a perennial contender, and the Saints continue to build around an aggressive passing attack and a passionate local fan base.
