New York Jets — Schedule, Scores & Roster

About the New York Jets

What to Check on This Team Page

The New York Jets joined the AFL in 1960 and became part of the NFL after the 1970 merger, playing home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, shared with the New York Giants. The Jets' defining moment came in Super Bowl III, when quarterback Joe Namath guaranteed a win over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts and delivered, a result widely credited with legitimizing the AFL ahead of the merger. New York's AFC East rivalry with the New England Patriots has been especially intense during the Patriots' dynasty years, while divisional games against the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins round out a competitive slate. The Jets share their market and stadium with the Giants, creating a unique split-market atmosphere in the New York area every fall. Namath's guarantee remains one of the most famous storylines in NFL history, and the Jets continue to build their roster around a young quarterback and defense as they chase a return to the playoffs.
