About the Denver Broncos

What to Check on This Team Page

The Denver Broncos joined the AFL in 1960 and entered the NFL with the 1970 merger, playing home games at Empower Field at Mile High, sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Denver, Colorado. The Broncos won back-to-back Super Bowls following the 1997 and 1998 seasons behind running back Terrell Davis and quarterback John Elway, capping Elway's Hall of Fame career with the franchise's first titles after three earlier Super Bowl losses. Denver added a third championship in Super Bowl 50, led by a historically dominant defense in Peyton Manning's final NFL season. The Broncos' AFC West rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders has produced decades of competitive divisional football, with Denver's altitude widely believed to give the team a genuine conditioning advantage over visiting opponents. "Mile High Magic," the nickname for the Broncos' late-game heroics tradition, reflects a franchise history built on clutch quarterback play and stout defense.
