About the Green Bay Packers

What to Check on This Team Page

The Green Bay Packers, founded in 1919, are the NFL's only fan-owned franchise and play at the historic Lambeau Field, nicknamed "the Frozen Tundra" for its brutal late-season conditions. Green Bay has won four Super Bowls and 13 total NFL championships, more than any other franchise, with legendary eras led by coach Vince Lombardi in the 1960s and quarterbacks Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers more recently. The Packers-Bears rivalry is the oldest in professional football, and the annual game between the two is a fixture of the NFC North schedule alongside matchups with the Vikings and Lions. Playing in the NFL's smallest market, Green Bay has built one of the most loyal fan bases in sports, with a decades-long waiting list for season tickets. The Lombardi Trophy, awarded to the Super Bowl champion each year, is named after the coach who built the Packers' first dynasty on that same frozen field. Start with the NFLBite home page for the wider league overview, use the NFL schedule to check upcoming matchups, review the NFL scores for recent results, and visit the NFL team directory to compare this franchise with the rest of the league.
